Soluciones para una vida mas saludable, un futuro sostenible y un mundo mas limpio.

Vision

The Vision of REFORESTAR 1 PANAMA is of a more balanced world, in which the incorporation of world population development does not come at the expense of natural resources. This balance must come through significant socioeconomic changes, which need not be led only by successive governments since both civil society and local governments have much ability to lead this change. The insatiable quest to solve global warming, recovery of our watersheds, natural wetlands (mangroves, coasts, estuaries, lakes etc.), protect the soil from erosion, create windbreaks for crop protection, incorporating forest resources as renewable alternative, obtaining tangible and intangible benefits that this represents, maintain and create urban forestry as recreational areas, minimize environmental pollution generated more populated areas of our nation.

Mission

The mission of the project REFORESTAR 1 PANAMA is to be part of the fight against climate change and for the recovery of natural resources and the environment nationwide. With the support of individous, private enterprise and government retake areas in the recent past (50 years) were covered in forests that have been deleted for various reasons,

such as:

  • Logging for industrial purposes or for consumption as plants.

  • Expansion of agricultural or livestock border.

  • Expansion of rural and urban areas.

  • Forest fires (intentional, accidental or natural).

By extension is also called reforestation, although it would be more correct term afforestation, to the more or less massive tree planting in areas where they did not exist, at least in recent historical times (50 years).

The Glaciers Are Melting !!!

One of the most visible evidence of global warming is the loss of ice in glaciers worldwide. Although estimates of 'lost' are lower than anticipated (thank goodness), the conclusion is that the ocean rises 1.5 millimeters per year since 2003, may seem small, but we must consider that the less mass ice there, the easier it melts, ie that climate trends or changes, or this process can not only accelerate.

"Glaciers in the world lose 148,000 million tons of ice per year. The ocean levels are rising 1.5 millimeters per year since 2003, according to a global study with data from satellites."
